In the summer of 2020, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that after the New Year, the UTII would no longer operate. He explained this by the fact that the entrepreneurs on a imputed basis do not bring enough money to the treasury: the real tax burden of the average company on UTII is only 0.8%.

"It is possible that the planned changes will not hit the business of this category of taxpayers too much, since in conditions of a significant decline in revenue and economic instability, this special regime is not particularly beneficial," said the chief tax adviser of the law firm Tax Compliance, Yuliya Pavlova.
