New format of interaction with the tax authority in terms of electronic contracts

A number of legislative changes will come into force in July 2023. 

Yulia Pavlova, Senior Tax Compliance Consultant at Tax Compliance, gave an expert comment on the legislative changes in terms of interaction with the tax authority via telecommunication channels on the Pravo.ru website.


XML-format electronic contract

In addition to the PDF-A/3 format approved in March 2022, the Federal Tax Service has apprhttp://publication.pravo.gov.ru/Document/View/0001202304280025?index=1oved the XML format for electronic contract documents. When entering into transactions, businesses will be able to choose the format on their own, based on their capabilities and their need to make use of the various properties of each of these formats. The document formed in any of the proposed formats can be submitted to the tax authorities via the Internet when they are requested or for clarification.

Yulia Pavlova, senior tax consultant at Tax Compliance, notes that the new format will give businesses more opportunities for analysis as the information in it is more structured. It is suitable for companies with a high level of digitalization. Besides, inspectors will benefit from switching to this format since it is easier to work with formatted and structured information of XML files.

Businesses will be able to use the new format on 14 July.
