On June 23 the "Best Legal Departments of Russia" ("LUD") awarding ceremony took place.

The award "LUD" is presented annually. Its aim is to promote public recognition of corporate lawyers, to disseminate best practices to legal service organizations, to unite the professional community and to raise the status of their professions. The jury traditionally includes last year's laureates, partners from leading Russian and international law firms, professors from the Moscow State Law Academy, as well as industry journalists and "Corporate Lawyer" experts.

Partner, Tax Compliance lawyer Andrei Solomyanyi awarded Gazprom-Media Holding, the winner in the Efficient Corporate Governance category.

Rosenergoatom Concern took second place, and RusHydro took third place.

The event was followed by the main premiere of the world's first comedy series about the life of a legal department, The DEPARTAMENT. It was based on a story that could have happened in any legal department. The authors of the series were inspired by the creative works and life stories of the contestants, of which there have been many over the 17 years of the competition.
