Tax Compliance was a partner in the "Tax Dispute of the Year" category in THE CASE by Legal Insight contest

Tax Compliance supported the debut project organized by Legal Insight Magazine, the aim of which was to separate legal work in court and lawyers' involvement in business processes and to appreciate the great number of cases submitted to the contest.

The "Tax Litigation of the Year" category was selected for the award. Tax Compliance would like to thank you for your trust and for the opportunity to support this particular nomination. With the decline in the number of cases going to trial, legal positions become especially valuable. "This trend significantly complicates the work, as it is difficult to predict how the dispute will be resolved and what the chances of winning are, which makes each case a landmark, regardless of the outcome," said Mikhail Begunov, research expert and managing partner of Tax Compliance. - "To feel protected, businesses should update information not only on legislative changes to protect themselves from additional tax payments, but also keep abreast of the position of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation and other courts. After all, all risks are a snowball effect: tax risks may turn into criminal ones, and the latter, in turn, into reputational ones. And now a company is in danger of being left without clients and counterparties, who will doubt its reliability.

Despite the fact that, on the one hand, the number of tax disputes that come to court is gradually decreasing, on the other hand, there is a serious growth of additional tax charges and criminal and reputational risks. Such tendencies significantly complicate the work and increase the value not only of victories but also of the very fact of clarification of disputable regulatory issues. The Tax Dispute of the Year nomination allows us to find those gems in the ocean of claim denials and reward those who are changing the legal reality."

The winner of the nomination was Spetskhimprom Case No. A40-131167/2020.  We sincerely congratulate the winner and thank you for your contribution to the future of the legal world!

Tax Compliance would like to thank the organizers for cooperation and their work! We wish the project further development and prosperity!
