Alexey has over 9 years of professional experience in civil and corporate law, defending clients in corporate and commercial disputes, bankruptcy cases, intellectual property disputes. He graduated with a Bachelor's and Master's degree from the Kutafin Moscow State Law Academy, specialising in corporate law. Prior to joining Tax Compliance, he worked at leading Russian law firms.
He specialises in supporting complex litigation projects in the areas of corporate law and bankruptcy, as well as pre-trial settlement of corporate conflicts. Alexey advises clients on business restructuring and protection of personal assets, structuring and execution of MA transactions, as well as other corporate law and corporate governance issues.
Alexey's significant projects include:
- Successfully implemented more than 15 projects related to protecting clients from subsidiary liability and loss recovery. The total amount of clients' assets preserved under these projects totalled more than RUB 10 billion.
- Represented a participant of a major IT company and related parties in a bankruptcy case. Developed a personalised defence strategy, which resulted in: (1) concluding favourable settlement agreements for the client in disputes over invalidity of transactions (including at the execution stage), reducing potential costs by more than 20 times; and (2) refusing to hold the client liable for subsidiary liability in excess of RUB 3. 3 billion.
- Advised a number of major foreign companies (in the retail and IT sectors) on corporate, property and criminal risks associated with the termination of their business in Russia.
- Supported a major retailer in the acquisition of an asset (a company with real estate on its balance sheet in the centre of Moscow) worth over RUB 600 million. As a result of Due Diligence, we were able to identify potential risks, which allowed us to obtain additional guarantees and reduce the transaction price by 10%.
- Advised one of Russia's leading oil companies on the liquidation of a limited partnership related to the client and distribution of its assets worth over RUB 1bn.
