Ekaterina has over 5 years of professional experience in tax consulting. She graduated with a bachelor's and master's degree in law from Lomonosov Moscow State University, specialising in tax administration and consulting, and taxpayer rights protection. Before joining Tax Compliance, she worked at a Russian consulting law firm and a BIG-4 company.
She specialises in representing clients in pre-trial and court settlements of disputes with tax authorities, advising on Russian and international taxation issues, including the application of preferential provisions of tax legislation, analysis and management of tax risks, as well as issues of subsidiary liability. He advises private clients on tax and currency structuring of personal assets, as well as estate planning, including through private funds.
Among Ekaterina's significant completed projects are:
• Legal representation of an oil and gas equipment manufacturer, resulting in an amicable agreement with the tax authorities on additional tax assessments amounting to RUB 2 billion.
• Representing a large Russian FMCG group in courts of all instances, resulting in the cancellation of additional tax assessments in the amount of RUB 827 million.
• Optimisation of the tax burden of an aviation holding company as a result of identifying and realising tax reserves for VAT and excise duties in the amount of over RUB 170 million, with subsequent defence of the proposed approach before the tax authority.
• Challenging the imposition of subsidiary liability in the amount of RUB 80 million on the former CEO in the context of the bankruptcy of a large developer, which completely removed the specified risks from him.
